CHACAS - PUNTA OLIMPICA
The Punta Olímpica Tunnel is a trans-Andean high mountain pass that connects the geographic sub-regions of the Callejón de Huaylas and the Conchucos Zone. You will appreciate a wonderful panoramic view.

Itinerary
The Olympic Point tunnel considered the highest trans-Andean tunnel in the world, located at 4 738 meters above sea level, has a length of 1 384 meters, 7.20 meters wide and 6.5 meters high. From this place we can see the impressive snow-capped mountains that surround us, feel the perpetual snow, appreciate the crystalline waters of the lagoons. Chacas located in the area of Conchucos on the east side of Huascarán National Park, noted for its square with cobbled streets, white houses adorned by carved balconies.
Tours Itinerary: Huaraz - Carhuaz - Punta Olímpica - Chacas - Return to Huaraz. Tour description:
8:00 am: Spectacular tours, we will depart from Huaraz (3 090), we will pass through Taricá, Jangas, Anta, Marcará, Carhuaz (2 650 masl) and from here we will ascend towards the Ulta creek. We will visit the Punta Olímpica tunnel (4 736 masl and 1 384 m long) considered the highest trans-Andean tunnel in the world, we will have a magnificent panoramic view of the ravine and the mountains that surround us, contemplating the beauty of the snow-covered Huascarán, Chopicalqui , Hualcán and Ulta. Visit to the Cancaraca and Yanaraju lagoons. After passing the tunnel you reach the Conchucos Valley, traveling about 30 kilometers to Chacas (3 330 meters above sea level), we will visit the main square, the municipal palace and its beautiful traditional architecture with balconies carved by the students of the parochial art school , workshop of artisans Don Bosco of Operation Mato Grosso directed by Father Ugo de Censi, highlights his beautiful works in carved wood which are exported to demanding markets in Europe and the United States. We can also find other artistic works such as weaving and embroidery, glass art, sculpture and painting, and restoration. 5:00 pm Arrival to Huaraz.
