The Santa Cruz - Vaqueria hiking circuit is very popular and is considered one of the most beautiful in the Cordillera Blanca because it is exceptional beauty and easy access.

Itinerary

Day 01 Huaraz (3,100 m) / Cashapampa / Laguna Ichiccocha (3,900 m)
Departure very early in a private minivan and we will go to the North of the City of Huaraz visiting their typical villages of the Callejón de Huaylas and then we will arrive at the town of Cashapampa (3 hours aprox.) Where the Arrieros and the donkeys wait for the transfer of feeding and equipment, we will begin the trek through a narrow valley at the beginning very close to the white river until arriving at the Ichiccocha camp, height 3,900 m (duration 3/4 hours approx.)

Day 02 Ichiccocha / Laguna Arhuaycocha / Taullipampa (4,250 m)
This day we will continue with the trek, passing through the beautiful lagoons of Atuncocha and Arhuaycocha, appreciating the south face of the snowy Alpamayo and other peaks that surround us such as artezonraju, taulliraju, quitaraju and then we will arrive at the Taullipampa camp height 4,250 m (duration 4/5) approx. hours)

Day 03 Taullipampa / Paso de Punta Union (4,750 m) / Cachinapampa (3,600 m)
After breakfast we will continue with the trekking and begin to climb up to the Punta Unión pass (4,750 m), appreciating the peaks of the Cordillera Blanca and the Santa Cruz and Huaripampa valleys, then descend to the Cachinapampa camp, height 3,600 m (duration 6 / 7 hours approx in up and down)

Day 04 Cachinapampa / Vaquería / Transfer by minivan / Paso (4,765 m) / Yungay
In the morning we will set things up and walk through the community of Huaripampa until we reach Vaquería (2 hours) from this place. The muleteers say goodbye to us and return to Cashapampa picking up our tracks; We will move in a private minivan passing through the pass of Portachuelo de Llanganuco (4,765 m) where we will make a small stop to appreciate an impressive panorama of the chain of mountains and valleys of the Cordillera Blanca, then descend through the Llanganuco ravine visiting the lagoons Orconcocha and Chinancocha, then we return to the city of Huaraz.
