On this two-day, one-night trip with accommodations in Luquina (Chucuito Peninsula), travelers are immersed in the local culture (without a guide) to enjoy the peace and tranquility on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Lodging is in typical houses built specifically to provide accommodations, with private bathrooms and water heated with solar energy—comforts that help travelers enjoy their visit to Lake Titicaca.
At the site, you can participate in the daily life of the farming population. You have the option of enjoying excursions in sailboats, local boats, kayaks, and bicycles; please let us know your preferences ahead of time so that we can make reservations and arrange for a specialized guide.

Itinerary

Day 1:We will pick you up from the hotel at 7:00 a.m. to go to the port of Puno and then visit the floating islands of the Uros and visit uros Island. We will stay on this natural island for three hours, observing the community, which has preserved its cultural heritage and Incan writing (weavings recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage Programme). We’ll learn about the interpretation of images found in the weavings and the wonderful natural landscapes as we visit the village and the cooperative. We will also have a basic lunch at a local restaurant.

At 2:00 p.m., we will depart from the port of uros to go to the Chucuito Peninsula. In Luquina Chico, we will be met by the Aymara families providing accommodations. Here you can walk along the shores of Lake Titicaca to observe the flora and fauna or take a walk to the community’s local lookout point or Apu Qanicristo (a mountain). Watch the sunset with the host family and dine with them.

Day 2: enjoy an early-morning breakfast and participate in everyday activities with the family members. optional: you can go hiking, kayaking or biking; request this in advance so that we can arrange for a specialized guide to accompany you. at noon, we’ll enjoy a buffet lunch of regional cuisine in la casa del pescador. then we will return to puno at approximately 4:00 p.m.
